Rob’s Ribs is the brainchild of the hard working and creative minds behind Butcher Paper BBQ. Our goal is to provide Auburn with a new and exciting space to get the best BBQ in the area and relax with friends and family.
As a sister location to Butcher Paper, Rob’s Ribs offers all the favorites from Butcher Paper along with several new and exclusive menu items. We offer baby back ribs, beef short ribs, salads, nachos, and a full bar. We are open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a late-night menu, and we are also open on Sundays for lunch and dinner.
The concept for Rob’s Ribs began in 2019. We wanted to create a new restaurant that focused on BBQ cooked on a brick pit, as is the traditional way to cook BBQ in the Auburn/Opelika/Columbus area. The perfect location became available in late 2020 in Auburn at 307 N College Street. The location was the former location of local institution Mike and Ed’s Barbecue. The opportunity to continue a tradition started by those who came before us was an offer too good to pass up. We jumped at the opportunity to take a local landmark and put our unique brand on it.
Rob’s Ribs offers an experience that is uniquely Auburn. With photos and memorabilia that harken back to old Auburn, traditional pit cooked BBQ, and our own modern twists, we have something to offer everyone. We have a large outdoor patio and comfortable indoor dining, and our bar offers spirits from John Emerald Distilling Company and several rotating craft beers.
We can be reached at (334) 209-1285 with any questions, or for catering info fill out our form here.

Rob is the General Manager of Rob’s Ribs. Rob is originally from Birmingham. He has over ten years of restaurant management experience, including two years as Assistant Manager at Butcher Paper BBQ. Rob has deep ties to Auburn. His grandfather and father both graduated from Auburn and Rob also attended Auburn. Rob has been an Auburn resident since 2007 with a brief hiatus in Ohio to manage a popular sandwich chain.
Rob spends his free time with his son, and he is also an avid singer/songwriter in town.
He is most excited to bring his grandmother’s famous “beer tea” to Auburn. According to Rob, “It takes 2-3 days to steep for a strong flavor unlike any other tea I’ve ever had.” We are planning to use the beer tea as a mixer for cocktails to make you feel like you’re sitting on your grandma’s front porch.
Alex is the Executive Chef at both Butcher Paper BBQ and Rob’s Ribs. He is a native son of Opelika, AL. He graduated from Opelika High School in 2011 and spent some time at Auburn University.
